Amla, the Indian gooseberry is found to be one of the strongest rejuvenates in Indian pharmacopoeia. It contains 30 times the amount of vitamin-C found in oranges. Prevents premature graying of hair and makes them strong and free from dandruff.
The pharmacological properties of the amla are numerous. Not only is it a wonderful antioxidant, but it has proven anti- fungal, anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-mutagen, yeast inhibiting, nematcidal, anabolic, anti-hepatoxic, anti- hyperhidrosis, anti-inflammatory, anti-histaminic, anti- spasmodic, hypolipidemic, and hypotensive relieving properties, it also acts as an antacid and anti-tumorganic agent. In addition, it increases protein synthesis and is thus useful in cases of hypoglycemia.
It is a natural conditioner and can be mixed with henna to neutralize effect of hair getting dry.
